Bringing together humans and nature. Published quarterly, SYMBIOSIS is a lifestyle/travel/nature zine which focuses on social concepts in relation to nature; relationships, community, movement, and more. These social concepts will be told in a variety of story-telling and essays . Symbiosis is defined my human centered story telling, diverse voices, strong voices, and above all constant connection between individual and the collective.

I also developed a creative direction. This included creating design elements and rules that will help guide the overall structure and visual communication of the experimental zine in the form of a style guide and flatplans. I explored design assets (imagery, folios, graphical elements, colour), typesetting (type pairs, and font choices), grids, and finally layouts. The exported files were to be able to send them off to print and to create a flat plan for my client. The flat plan I created was not only for the client but for my presentation pitch. Once I had gathered all necessary assets I sent out my magazine to be printed.

Additionally this magazine required us to create our own custom typeface within out template. I used Adobe Illustrator to create my own typeface by hand to reflect the creative direction of the magazine. I also created all illustrations using procreate.
